ASNEAA planned to offer Back to School programming the last weekend in September and Mother Nature said “nah“. In alignment with the CLP pop-up design, the Back to School event was pushed until Thursday, October 3rd. CLP x Back to School @ Brower Park highlighted “Shirley Chisholm Circle” and the importance of civic engagement in the current socio-political climate.
CLP participants celebrated the life and legacy of Shirley Chisholm and showcased their BIPOC heritage advocacy with trivia + prizes (ASNEAA swag + books courtesy of Brooklyn Book Bodega + in-kind donations):
Of course there were arts as advocacy creative expressions projects (courtesy of Partnership for Parks- NYC Green Fund Grassroot Grant + Blick Art Supplies):
