CLP x Pinkster 2025

CLP x Pinkster 2025 @ Dyckman Farmhouse Museum (DFHM) was a special reunion of sorts- and a testament to mission work! At ASNEAA events; especially in partnership with Dutch heritage houses- I share my introduction to a multicultural heritage lens while on vacation in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In the genius of Black Heritage Tours– the idea of ASNEAA was birthed. Dyckman, Lefferts, and Wyckoff have been instrumental partners in the development of ASNEAA programming centering Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) narratives. Initiatives such as Dyckman Discovered and Reimagine Lefferts are proof of concept that unpacking history + culture is social justice business. I am forever grateful for the partnership these organizations offered in space and resources- as ASNEAA transitioned into a business entity. CLP x Pinkster 2025 is another example of our growing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and safety for people of ALL ages and backgrounds!

DFHM- in partnership with Not Your Momma’s History + New York Historical Society– hosted a Pinkster Stroll between the two sites. In homeage to the ancestors’, Pinkster stroll participants dressed in the style of the time period and performed artistic ceremonies to celebrate the occassion:

Community griots explained the significance of the Pinkster tradition and survival mindset of BIPOC culture and narratives (and why ASNEAA became a social justice enterprise and considers white a color):

For CLP x Pinkster 2025, ASNEAA promoted the following on-site exploration and arts as advocacy creative expression activities (courtesy of Blick Arts Supplies):

  • BIPOC heritage introductions

  • DFHM self guided tours + exhibitions

  • Advocacy paintings / chalkings

  • Legacy bracelet making
